My Thoughts on Non-members Contemplating Marriage With a Member.
There are several couples in my ward where only one spouse is a member. They are in love and try and work around their religious differences. For me this would not be an option however, because my religion is central to who I am and the guiding direction that I want my life to take.
I want an active priesthood holder in the family. To help provide strength and support as we make this life's journey together. When I get married and have children.....I want to be part of a family where we can all worship together in the same church on Sunday and share the experience with one another. For me it would be miserable to live in a home divided by religion. I want a spouse that has their own testimony of the truthfulness of the church and isn't just going through the motions of going to please me. I want a spouse that's on the same page as me in helping to instruct our future children on our faith in Jesus Christ and in his church.
I don't know what religion that you belong to or even if you are very active in it, but you maybe surprised at the similarities to the LDS religion. After all we are a Christian religion and one of the best ways to really find out more about us is to have a talk with the missionaries. Then read and pray to the Lord about its truthfulness. It may just clear up any misconceptions that you have heard about the Mormon church and you could find yourself actually enjoying the message that it is sharing with everyone!

I know what you mean. I worry so much about being careful to try and make the right decisions everyday, because each wrong choice can take us farther and farther from God and off of the path that leads back to him.

Yes, try and think about the bigger picture.......marriage can last for an eternity with the right couple.
